FOOTBALL
The ACS EAGLE football program is available from 1st through 12th grade. The Youth Football Program offers the opportunity for flag football in the 1st/2nd grade and tackle football at the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade levels. Middle School Football is offered at the 7th and 8th grade levels. There are opportunities to play Junior Varsity and Varsity Football for our 9th through 12th grade students. Flag FB offered at 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th - Tackle begins 5th/6th
From its beginning in 1977, the Athens Christian Football Program has a rich heritage of competition and success. It is the goal of ACS to use the platform of football to grow young men physically, athletically, spiritually, and socially. We will strive daily to Teach, Train, and Invest in the lives of the young people who are a part of the Athens Christian Football Program.
COACHING STAFF
Coach Morris' experience at ACS began as offensive line coach, helping the team reach the second round of the GHSA playoffs. He served the last two years as Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.
Coach Morris is a native of Alabama and comes with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of running a football program. He has 20 years of coaching experience from the middle school level all the way to the highest classification in the state of Georgia.
Prior to coming to ACS he served as Offensive Coordinator for the freshman program at East Paulding High School in Dallas, GA and Offensive Coordinator at North Cobb Christian School in Kennesaw, GA. While at North Cobb Christian he was instrumental in turning the program around, delivering record setting offensive statistics and the first winning season in school history. At North Paulding, McClure Middle, and Austin Middle, he built programs from the ground up. He began his coaching career in Georgia at Osborne and Lassiter High Schools.
Prior to coming to Georgia he served as a volunteer Wide Receiver Coach at Hewitt-Trussville Jr. High and Wide Receiver Intern Coach at his alma mater, Hewitt-Trussville High School, where he was a three year letterman in football.
Coach Morris will receive his Master’s degree in Theological Studies in spring 2024 from Veritas International University. He holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Auburn University at Montgomery and a B.S. in Health Promotion from Auburn University.
While at Auburn he was part of Auburn Football’s support staff, serving as an equipment manager under Terry Bowden during Auburn’s ‘93 perfect season. Coach Morris resides in Jefferson, Georgia with his wife Branda and their two children, Grace and Patrick.
