Football
The ACS EAGLE football program is available from 1st through 12th grade. The Youth Football Program offers the opportunity for flag football in the 1st/2nd grade and tackle football at the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade levels. Middle School Football is offered at the 7th and 8th grade levels. There are opportunities to play Junior Varsity and Varsity Football for our 9th through 12th grade students. Flag FB offered at 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th - Tackle begins 5th/6th From its beginning in 1977, the Athens Christian Football Program has a rich heritage of competition and success. It is the goal of ACS to use the platform of football to grow young men physically, athletically, spiritually, and socially. We will strive daily to Teach, Train, and Invest in the lives of the young people who are a part of the Athens Christian Football Program.
Terance Mathis
Football Head Coach
Coach Mathis attended Redan High School in Stone Mountain before being recruited to the University of New Mexico. He became New Mexico's first consensus All-American after setting a Division I record for most receiving yards. Following college, Coach Mathis had a very successful 13 year career in the NFL, and spent 8 of those years with the Atlanta Falcons.
Coach Mathis has several years of coaching experience in Georgia at both the high school and college levels. He and his wife and 2 children live in Suwanee, Georgia.
