HISTORY
Athens Christian School was founded in 1970 by Drs. Buhl and Lois Cummings as an inter-denominational Christian School with 125 students. The school has a present enrollment of over 535 students enjoying excellent, modern facilities.
The motto of Athens Christian School is Quality Education in a Christian Atmosphere. ACS is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC); therefore, our graduates are well-received into the college and career of their choice. We have many graduates in the fields of law, medicine, business, government and technology. We are also members of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) www.acsi.org and the Georgia High School Association which allows our students to participate in music, speech, drama, athletic and Bible quiz competitions.
Athens Christian School is an extension of the Christian home. The purpose of ACS is to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere. Biblical truths are integrated into the academic content at all grade levels and are the basis for all that is taught. Bible classes are taught daily, with weekly Chapel services integrated as well. The administration and faculty of Athens Christian School challenge students to do their best in their studies while taking time needed for individual counsel and instruction. We seek to provide boundaries, inspiration, and instruction for our students that are Biblically consistent as well as academically challenging.
Our highly trained and dedicated faculty provide quality education and caring concern for each student. Our qualified teachers average over 15 years of experience in their academic field. Many faculty members hold post-graduate degrees.
