The primary goal for students in Lower School music will be to strengthen their faith by fostering a love of music through participation in Christian based music lessons.  Students will gain a strong foundation in the seven major elements of music:  rhythm, melody, harmony, tempo, timbre, dynamics, and form.  In addition, they will focus on instrument families, music history, world music, composer biographies, ear training, as well as music notation.  

 

Lower School Music has two major musical productions each year - the 3rd and 4th Grade Thanksgiving Program in November, and the 1st and 2nd Grade Patriotic Program in February. 

 

Students in 5th grade have the option and opportunity to learn an instrument in the beginning band class.
