Athens Christian School partners with families to provide access to a quality education in a Christian atmosphere through the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program.

Signed into law in 2024 and administered by the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA), the program allows eligible Georgia families to receive up to $6,500 per student, per year to help cover approved educational expenses.

What is the Georgia Promise Scholarship Program

The Georgia Promise Scholarship Program provides eligible families with up to $6,500 per student annually to cover educational expenses, including:

  • Private school tuition and fees
  • Curriculum materials and textbooks
  • Transportation services

Administered by the Georgia Education Savings Authority (GESA), the program ensures families can choose educational options that best fit their child’s unique needs.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Georgia Promise Scholarship:

  • Students must be enrolled in a Georgia public school for at least two consecutive semesters OR
  • Be rising kindergarten students who forgo public school enrollment

How to Apply for the Georgia Promise Scholarship

  1. Visit the Georgia Promise Scholarship Website
  2. Check Your Eligibility: Ensure your family meets the program’s requirements.
  3. Prepare to Apply: Gather required documentation, including proof of enrollment or eligibility.
  4. Submit Your Scholarship Application: Applications will be processed through the Georgia Education Savings Authority’s online portal, which will open in early 2025.

Once your students have been accepted into the program, they are in until graduation.

The application portal opens in the spring of each calendar year for the following school year.

Students must attend public school for two consecutive semesters or be rising kindergarteners. 

Approved expenses include tuition, textbooks, transportation, and more.

Eligible families can receive up to $6,500 annually per student.
