  • Description
    The Lower School REACH teacher partners with Kindergarten-5th grade classroom teachers, the Lower School Principal, and the Reach Director to ensure that students with diverse learning needs are known, supported, and equipped to thrive academically and spiritually. This role administers and modifies assessments in small-group settings, builds trusted relationships with students, contributes to individual student support plans, and provides in-classroom support as needed. The ideal candidate views this work as a ministry of encouragement, helping every student experience both academic growth and the love of Christ.

    Responsibilities

    Qualifications

    • Personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and educational philosophy.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education preferred.
    • Experience working with elementary-age students in an educational, testing, or support-services capacity preferred.
    • Working knowledge of learning differences, testing accommodations, and individualized support planning.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage confidential records and multiple student plans simultaneously.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, parents, teachers, and administration.
    • Patient, encouraging, and relational disposition, with a heart for students who learn differently.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records and family information.
  • Upper school science teachers will teach 5-6 periods of science, which could include biology, anatomy and physiology, and environmental science from a Biblical worldview.

    Qualifications:

    Have a passion for helping students learn and grow
    Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Science education with 3 years experience

    Responsibilities: 
    Model Christlike attitudes and behaviors for students and families, including faith, love, repentance, and high personal standards of spiritual growth
    Create meaningful relationships with students and families, with the goal of child development at the forefront
    Deliver the materials that align with course objectives and curriculum guides
    Submit weekly lesson plans so parents and students have a clear understanding of regular expectations
    Incorporate a variety of instructional methods to strive to engage all students and meet the academic, spiritual, and emotional needs of students
    Provide regular formative and summative assessments and record graded assignments in a timely manner
    Create and maintain a classroom culture and environment conducive to creative learning
    Cooperate with team members working collectively to build unity and camaraderie for a cohesive teaching environment

  • Position Overview

    Middle School Physical Education teachers will teach 5-6 instructional periods of Physical Education that create a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship between a healthy body and exercise. The goal is to motivate students to cultivate physical fitness and to develop talents of students in physical achievement that develop strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual, and team activities and sports.


    Qualifications
    Interested candidates should:

    • Possess a thriving relationship with Jesus and desire to share that relationship with their students
    • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Physical Education (state certification preferred)
    • Align with ACS statement of faith, mission and values
    • Have a passion to help students learn and grow
    • possess 3-5 years of experience in the classroom
